Antetokounmpo, Davis ruled out from 2025 NBA All-Star Game; Young, Irving in

Antetokounmpo and Dallas Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis
have both been ruled out of the 2025 NBA All-Star Game due to
injuries. Antetokounmpo is sidelined with a left calf strain, while
Davis is recovering from a left adductor strain, according to news
reports from NBA insiders Shams Charania and Chris
Haynes.
In their absence, Atlanta Hawks
guard Trae Young and Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving have been
selected as replacements. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made and
relayed the selections, and it was chosen for the reason of the
next in line of voting from the NBA head coaches. The NBA All-Star
reserves are selected through a voting process from all 30 league
head coaches.
Young, making his fourth
All-Star appearance, is averaging 23.5 points and 11.4 assists this
season. Irving, now a nine-time All-Star, has posted averages of
24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will
feature a new format, consisting of a four-team, three-game
mini-tournament at Chase Center in San Francisco. Young and
Irving’s participation is highly anticipated, as fans look forward
to their dynamic playmaking abilities on the All-Star
stage.
